A multi-arts performance for organ, film, dance, industrial sound and digital arts. During this evening, two concerts of 40 minutes each (without an interval) will offer an artistic re-reading of industrial heritage (steel industry) and cinematographic heritage (old documentary films on the steel industry and mining) in different aspects of “remix”, using various genres of artistic expression. A remix, too, between the past, the present and the future. The first part “Melting Pot: Dudelange tanzen” is a tribute to the industrial past through dance and organ music, based on excerpts from documentary films and complemented by current shots, while at the same time looking to the present and future of a town and a region that is changing and reinventing itself, including culturally. The second part, “Organized Chaos”, draws on fractal theory to combine fractal images (Mandelbrot, Mandelbulb 3D), organ music and industrial electro sounds created especially for this concert, during which the artists’ performance is guided by algorithms generated by programmed software. As an introduction to the organ (the organ itself being a machine), the film “Die Meister des Windes” (Claude Lahr, 2002) about the renovation of the Dudelange organ from 1999 to 2002 will be shown in CinéStarlight a few days before the evening.
